Jordan Onisk

Right when I began taking classes at Evolation Buffalo in 2018, I knew this was the atmosphere and community I wanted to be a part of. I started my teacher training shortly after joining the Evolation community because I fell in love with yoga, and the positive changes it was bringing to my mind, body, and SELF. I strive to create a safe space for students to move freely, and create their own practice. Yoga is a gift and I knew I needed to share it with anyone who was ready to listen. I think everyone should know how important and beneficial yoga can be, not just for the body, but for the mind.
My favorite poses to teach are balancing poses. They develop strength in the body, improvement in balance, and tests your focus and connection to mind, body, and breath. My favorite que to remind students while teaching balance poses is not to worry. “If you fall out, come right back in, we are simply testing our balance”. I easily relate that to everyday life. Instead of giving up, or getting angry at yourself, keep going, and don’t take it too seriously. It’s so important to take your practice with you outside of the studio. Teaching yourself that the connection of breath to movement, and the practice of mindfulness and balance, come a long way on and off the mat.
